10/17/2012: Our group together with CHESS staff scientist Dr. Detlef-M. Smilgies, for the first time, determined a reversible Kirkwood-Alder transition occurred in a Pt3Cu2 nanoctahedron colloidal system. 6/18/2010: Welcome Lin Dai, a visiting Ph.D. student from Professor Zou"s group at Miami University. Ms. Dai will stay here and conduct nanocatalyst synthesis with us during the summer.
6/1/2010: Our former graduate, Dr. Jun Zhang, received "2010 Distinguished Postdoctoral Fellowship" from Argonne National Laboratory. He has started his new research career there in nanocatalyst from this early June. Congratulations.
5/14/2010: A luncheon to honor four graduate student award winners in the department, including Dan Xu and Zhaoyong Sun, was held at Olive Garden today. This year, both Dan and Zhaoyong received department "Outstanding Research Accomplishment Awards" for graduate students demonstrating their "outstanding research accomplishments". Chair and Professor Wayne E. Jones Jr. presented the award certificate and prize ($200.00 check) to each of them.

3/08/2007: Congratulations to Miss Sui Shan (Sandy) Chan for receiving her Undergraduate Student Summer Research Award for support of summer research. This grant contributed from a generous gift from a donor who wishes to remain anonymous and established recently by the department was competitively given to qualified undergraduate student(s) of Chemistry to conduct her/his summer research each year. This year there is only one such fellowship that Sandy received. She will work in our group on study of "drug-delivery using novel developed nanostructured materials" for two months.
1/29/2007: We welcome Dr. Zhaoping Liu to join our group as a postdoctoral associate. He is going to work on synthesis and characterization of diluted magnetic semiconductor quantum dots. Dr. Liu was previously working at National Institute for Materials Science in Japan.
